Ana Mendieta was a groundbreaking feminist Cuban artist who is most know for her earth-body performances. She was born on November 18, 1948, in Havana, Cuba where she lived with her mother, father, and soon later her husband Carl Andre. Ana was a woman who didn’t care what others said or criticize her work and always made sure she was one with nature and the universe.
